The Fire Awareness Awards are the perfect opportunity to recognise a wide variety of projects that reduce the effect of fires in Victoria. Projects can focus on any fire type, including structure fires and bushfires.
The Fire Awareness Awards have been presented since 1983 and are a collaborative venture between Victoria’s fire agencies – Country Fire Authority (CFA), Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFB) and Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DEPI), supported by the Fire Services Commissioner. Valued media support is provided by Victoria’s emergency broadcaster ABC Local Radio Victoria.
RACV Insurance is proud to once again sponsor this important fire prevention initiative. RACV Insurance sees firsthand the impact that fire can have on peoples’ lives when helping their members through the aftermath of fire.
The 2013 Fire Awareness Awards held on Wednesday 4 December were a huge success. Hosted by ABC Local Radio’s Jonathan Ridnell, the evening rewarded inspirational and innovative projects from communities, schools and industry sectors across Victoria.
Guests enjoyed stunning views of Melbourne from the 17th storey balcony at the RACV City Club with live acoustic music and delicious refreshments.
