Conditions of entry – general information for awards and grants
- Entry is open to any individual, group or organisation who have completed a fire project in Victoria. An individual or organisation outside of Victoria can apply as long as the project was delivered in this state.
- Projects must have been carried out between 1 January 2009 and 20 August 2010.
- Projects can be entered into one or more award categories.
- Projects must meet the standards and accepted procedures of all Victorian fire agencies. If in doubt, please discuss with a suitable person at the relevant fire agency before you enter your project for an award.
- Entries must be received by 4pm on Friday 20 August 2010. Late applications cannot be accepted.
- Entries and attachments cannot be returned.
- Applicants may be required to complete a phone interview to discuss their application.
- Decisions reached by the judging panel are final. No correspondence will be entered in to.
- Award and grant recipients will be announced at the Fire Awareness Awards presentation night on 7 October 2010.
- Information submitted in the application process may be used for promotional purposes.
- Award and grant recipients may be required to participate in media and publicity for the awards.
Conditions of entry – Special Incentive Grant applicants
- Grant funds are not designed to provide ongoing financial support for a project.
- Grant recipients must be able to complete their project, and expend grant monies, on or before Friday 1 October 2011.
- Employees of MFB, CFA and DSE are not eligible to apply for grants.
- All grant applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application.
- If the grant is awarded to an individual or unincorporated group it will be necessary for a nominated individual to be responsible for compliance with funding obligations and to be party to the funding agreement.
- A final evaluation form showing evidence of the initiative’s achievements and how grant money has been expended must be provided to DSE by Friday 29 October 2011.
Conditions of entry – RACV Insurance Fire Safety Grant applicants
- Grant funds are not designed to provide ongoing financial support for a project.
- Funds are for projects that must be completed by October 2011.
- Employees of RACV Insurance, MFB, CFA or DSE are not eligible to apply.
- All grant applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application.
- The grant recipient must sign a legally binding written agreement with RACV Insurance.
- If the grant is awarded to an individual or unincorporated group it will be necessary for a nominated individual to be responsible for compliance with funding obligations and to be party to the funding agreement.
- Grant funding will not be provided for projects with high salary components, capital works, research, activities primarily concerning the printing of publications, domestic or international travel and/or accommodation costs, or projects that are being undertaken as part of an accredited course of study.
- All Grant recipients are required to complete and submit progress reports on the achievements of the initiative by 4pm on Friday 11 March 2011 to RACV Insurance and at other times as required by RACV Insurance.
- At the completion of the project, any unspent funds or unapplied grant must be returned.
- A final evaluation report showing evidence of the project achievement’s and provision for the refund of any unspent funding must be provided to RACV Insurance by 5pm, Friday 9 September 2011. This must include appropriate tax invoices and evidence of the proper use of funding received.
